Blowing Kisses

Amaris started blowing kisses this week. It's so cute, and I've been dying for her to learn! The best part is instead of 'blowing' the kiss off her hand, she sucks in. I guess we should all give ourselves a few kisses everyday, like giving yourself a pat on the back, but better.

We went to the park down the road from our house, we walked there, sans stroller! It took awhile but Amaris was so proud of herself. The park is really quite nice for small town Saskatchewan! There is even a basketball court, which we stomped in the puddles in. She thought it was hilarious and we stomped until her pants were soaked. I really need to get her some rubber boots! You will notice her hair is aweful in the pictures. We're in an awkward stage right now, and she won't hold still or keep hair clips in! She looks a bit like Harry from Dumb and Dumber!

I can't believe I just posted a picture from Dumb and Dumber on my blog, but seriously her hair looks like this. A lot. The dryness of the prairies isn't helping at all!

Well I am LOVING the start of spring, hope you are too!

17 Degrees

At last! My first taste of spring! It's been snowing since October in Calgary, and we left just as it was starting to thaw out for another month of WINTER in Regina! I think I was starting to go crazy, really. Yesterday was amazing, beautiful, perfect, amazing.
My little bug has been crazy, like usually. She's taken to destroying the living room as her past time. Why don't toys actually work? It seems like in order to clean one room, I have to sacrifice the other room to keep her preoccupied while I clean! What a mountain to climb, part of me can't wait till she gets older and will play with little dolly's or playdough, or whatever.

On the back porch. She still loves balls, of all shapes and sizes. David says this is the first step to being a tom girl. Can't say I disagree. She dosn't have much of a choice anyways with a Dad eager to get her out fishing and camping. Go ahead and laugh at her odd outfit, it wasn't a thoughtout combination.
XoXo enjoy your spring!

Garbage in the Garbage

Yesterday Amaris took my granola bar wrapper out of my hand, and crawled away with it. After that, all I heard was silence. All mom's know, this is not a good thing. I went into the kitchen to investigate, and found she had put the wrapper in the garbage! And then gotten distracted by the rest of the garbage...which was slowly being pulled onto the floor.

But still!

Today, she did the same thing, found another wrapper (I really don't always have wrappers lying all over my house, but there was one today) and she went and put that in the garbage too! Sigh, my little girl is getting all grown up.

I told my mom this story, and she told me my sister did the same thing when she was little, including with money if any was lying around. My mom once found a $20 crumpled up and thrown in the garbage. Oops!

Anyways, hope your day is a good, garbage-less one!

Do You Curl

I don`t mean bouncy, springy, curl. I mean, throwing round, heavy things down the ice and `sweeping` in front of them. Because if you don`t, you might as well get out of Saskatchewan!

Let me tell you what I am learning about living in a town, population 1600 people. Most of which who have been born within 10miles of here, and are still here.
1.) You pick up your mail at the post office. The town is too small for door to door delivery, or even mailboxes down the road.
2.) The town LIVES and BREATHES for two things: Hockey, and Curling.
3.) Every outing is an opportunity to chat, it dosn`t matter what you are doing.
4.) Nobody is in a rush. The speedlimit is 40km an hour, most residents go about 15 under.
5.) There is one gas station, where all the old men hang out to drink their coffee (yes, gas station coffee) and talk. For hours.
Well, I`m sure I`ll learn more, and as I do, I`ll keep you posted!

Stickers on Our Faces

This evening the Bug and I spent half an hour sticking stickers on our faces. The day was also spent grocery shopping, shoe shopping for the whole family, and napping. I love the weekends.

We are officially in our new/old house, it's super cute! But the move has been extremely emotional, nothing like moving to a flat/brown/cold/ugly province to a place where you know nobody for 1000 miles in all directions to unsettle you a bit! The first little bit is always the hardest, I know it will get easier. Especially as summer comes! I watch the snow melt inch by inch, as the days roll on with eager anticipation. We have a pool in our beautiful backyard, which I couldn't be more excited about! Hot, dry Saskatchewan summer, Take that!

Here is a few pictures of our stressful moving day, complete with tearful breakdown at the end.

Isn't it beautiful? My favorite parts are the stainglass windows, and two huge window seats, one in the living room and one in the kitchen! The house is very bright which is especially nice in an older house. One funny thing about the house, the floors are insanely uneven, to the point of Amaris not being able to walk in some spots! Also the doorway heights are hilarious! If you're over 5"11 you hit your head in some spots.

All said in done though, I like the house! Although one little suprise that came with it, mouse traps and poisen in my kitchen cupboard, including on snapped in half mouse under my pots and pans cupboard! Amaris actually uncovered that one. Ick!
