I had a McDonald's cheeseburger this month for the first time in three years. Just a plain cheeseburger, nothing on it but cheese. Once every three years can't hurt me too much can it? The worst thing is I'm not upset about breaking this three year anti-McDonald's streak. It was a good cheeseburger.
Anyways, I didn't make it to my Dr's appointment, I was throwing up and had a aweful cold, and Amaris was sick, and I had to walk across town to make it to the appointment, so I cancelled. I've now tried calling everyday since then to rebook with no success, I am getting frustrated! I'm due for an ultrasound which I am very eagerly anticipating! I'm also leaving for Victoria in a few days and will be gone for a month, I don't want to wait that long to find out what I'm having.
Not to mention I want to make sure the baby is healthy. Every pregnant mom has moment's of fear that something will be less than perfect with the little one growing inside them. When you start thinking about all the things that could go wrong, it makes me even more thankful that Amaris is so healthy!
David is out mowing the lawn right now, and Amaris is sleeping. Or playing in her crib. I better go check on her. She's sleeping. Amazing. Often it takes almost an hour of playing and singing in her crib before she drifts off. I guess it's how she winds down for the day. She never cries, just enjoys her time before falling asleep.
The pool is almost ready for swimming! But the weather isn't, blah. I saw the sun today for the first time in like a week and a half, which is unusual for the prairies.
Well, I'm out, I can't think of anything else to say!

18 Weeks
Well 18 weeks is looming ahead, 18 weeks of throwing up. I actually thought I'd be done throwing up at 12 weeks, like the baby books tell you. Then again I thought that with my first pregnancy too, and I didn't stop throwing up until 16 weeks there.
Weather has been amazing, but the bugs have been aweful. Tomorrow morning I am walking to the doctor for a prenatal appointment, hopefully get to hear the baby's heart beat and get my ultrasound booked to find out the gender! I can hardly wait!
Amaris has a bad cold, as do I, and David. She is pretty miserable with her poor drippy nose.
May long weekend is ahead, David has monday off I think!! Lets hope.
The pool gets set up by the pool guys on the 26th, I am eagerly anticipating my private backyard pool! How awesome. I can't wait for Amaris to learn how to swim. Well, I'll settle on 'learn how to float,' for now anyways.

The windstorms we had recently wreaked havoc on our pool, blowing in all the tarping and weights around the edges. Hopefully it cleans up okay!

Mr.Sun
This week has been AMAZING!! Beautiful, beautiful sunshine. We are getting the pool set up asap, and we are supposed to have 28 degree weather all week. Amaris loves being outside and knows how to walk straight to the park, which is sort of scary since she beelines for there as soon as she steps outside. She also learned something new this week, it goes like this: "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
Ah so awesome. She tries out this new word everytime we have to leave the park. Along with a temper tantrum. She's learning how to go down the slide all by herself too. It's hard not to be over protective, or underprotective of her roaming abilities at the park, you can't shelter too much but at the same time you don't want to be going to the emergency room!
Amaris is still cutting teeth, she only has two bottom teeth and four on the top, so these teeth have been a long time coming! I wish they'd just pop up.
Our house is up for sale now because the landlords are trying to sell it this summer, so far we've had two house showings. I havn't thrown up in about three days though which makes getting the house in order easier.
Well hopefully we'll get pictures of the pool up as soon as it's ready!

Changes
I couldn't think of a good title for this post, I guess 'Changes' works because that's a constant in my life. Some very big, very stressful things almost happened this week, work wise, and it's not to say they won't still happen. So I'm strapping on my steady boots and ready for the ride. This week David has worked almost 70 hours. Amaris is cutting a whole crum load of teeth and the misery is evident. My housework is staring me in the eye as I attempt to drag the baby attached to my leg around with me as I clean. Needless to say, I havn't been as on top of my game as I could be. We coloured yesterday and I gave Amaris Indian warpaint. She's getting intouch with her roots. I should have drawn some on David too.
I have given up trying to get a really clear, great picture of her. She moves too much. I have met three mom's within a two minute walk from my house this week and it is AMAZING. Everyone of them is super nice, just the kind of mom you would hope to meet on your street! I am starting to finally feel happy here. A fact for which I am happy about.
Well I might just go take a nap.

Centre of Gravity
Thought I'd share two conversations that cracked me up. This is one of the many reasons I love my husband.
Me: David, are you watching Amaris in the tub? She could tip over by accident.
David: I know, that's why I never fill the water past her belly button.
Me: Oh ya, why her belly button?
David: Because her belly button is her centre of gravity.
So if you were ever wondering where a babies centre of gravity is, apparently it's the belly button. Kinda makes sense.
Conversation number two.
Me: I really want a steamer for the carpets and floors and clothes.
David: So you can use it twice and then never use it again?
Me: I would use it!
David: Not likely.
Me: Have you ever even used a steamer?
David: Yes.
Me: Oh really, where?
David: RW&Co (clothing store).
Me: What? How?
David: The sales associate left it on so I tried it.
As you can see, he clearly has ever right to be a steamer expert now!
Anyways, hope all you mom's had a fab mother's day! The best part of mine was I didn't have to cook dinner tonight! And I DID get a steamer today!

Evil in Plastic Form
So I have found the scariest thing in the world. The VACUUM! Amaris is absolutely terrified of our new vacuum cleaner! She shakes from head to toe and bawls her eyes out if she sees it, and if you turn it on it is like you've poked her with a sharp stick she jumps so high! This does not make my house work easy when it comes to carpets! I've tried slowly getting her used to it, walking closer, etc. No luck. She calls it a 'Fife'. I have no idea what that means, but apparently it means 'big scary thing'.
Well the hubby has had a record of four days off! Amazing, I love the rain!! He's been rained out now since friday, and after working 6 days a week for the past forever and I am LOVING having him home!!We do exciting things like to go the passport office, and grocery shop. And copious amounts of laundry. I hate laundry.
So my mother and brother are coming out to visit in less then two weeks! I am very excited to see family. Scratch that, I am excited to have HUMAN CONTACT!! ahhhhh.
Xoxo
